J&D’S YOGA ON RETREAT

We love to share the richness of yoga and the adventure of body-mind movement, bringing together all that we know. Here is a breakdown of the “Smorgås bord” of (yoga goodness) treats on offer for the weekend…

Rise ‘n’ Shine Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Welcome in the morning’s with Rise n Shine Vinyasa flow Yoga. A two hour adventure into flexibility, strength and body-mind movement. We will use the power and subtlety of breath to enliven and connect to energy and strength and discover moments of peace, ease and spaciousness. There’ll be time to explore postures more deeply, define clear techniques to enhance your practice and take it to the next level.

Sundown Yoga
As we ease into evening, Sundown Yoga will reflect this time, the changing season and the need to replenish and nurture. The practices will be introspective, heartfelt and calm with a good dose of deep relaxation. We will combine the following styles…

Yin Yoga: A quiet complimentary practice, consisting of a series of long-held, passive floor poses, typically one to five minutes. Yin targets our deepest tissues of the body; ligaments, joints, bones and fascia. In ancient Chinese tradition, which is where this style originates, it is believed by moving slowly and deeply into and out of poses that we improve the flow of qi (or chi), the subtle energy that runs through the meridian pathways of the body. Yin stimulates, circulation, improves flexibility and joint mobility and calms and balances body and mind.

Restorative Yoga: Deeply relax, as your body is completely supported in longer held yoga poses with the aid of props; blocks, bolsters, blankets and straps. As the body remains still, supported and sumptuously relaxed, the parasympathetic nervous system is stimulated. This promotes a relaxation response and reduces stress in our bodies, slowing down your heart rate and breath and increasing blood flow to your organs. Perfect to balance out an active yoga schedule.

Yoga Nidra: Simply guided meditation discovering the serene space between awake state and sleep state…Yoga Nidra is often referred to as “awake sleep”. Lying or seated in a comfortable position, the practice invites ease into the body and to make gentle enquiries into feelings and emotions that may be calling our attention. Through body and breath sensing, we welcome sensations as guiding lights to point us back to our own essential sense of well-being. Deeply relaxing, Nidra feels like the drifting into sleep stage of a good restful nights slumber.

Bespoke Feel…There’s two of us and only twelve of you!… so, (if you would like to), as we share yoga space together, we’d love to offer up plenty of attentive tuition, physical adjustments and pampering in all of the practices above…prepare yourself to be spoilt.

EVERYONE WELCOMEJUST BRING YOUR HEART & SPIRIT!
